This is not treading any ground, old nor new. This is Immolation compressing the fuck out of their production and giving a half-ass performance in the studio. It's as if Nuclear Blast came knocking on their door and forced a hurried effort out of the band.



"Hey look, I'm a huge metal label that's soaking up all of Roadrunners back catalogue to get street cred and turning everything into shit." They've fucked up with Immolation (Majesty and Decay was written between finding a label mind you), Suffocation, gonna fuck up Carcass (another album written between finding labels)...and it will only continue. I guarantee they will pick up Opeth and Gojira when Roadrunner dies like the dinosaurs over the next few years. Sorry for the rant, I just blame them for some lame and outputs from some awesome bands.

Just noticed this. Seriously, the hooks and production and the riffs on that album are fucking night and day difference from this. It's like listening to two completely different albums.

Harnessing... at least had some dynamics and a few good tunes. This is just suckage on the basis that it does nothing but hammer you for 40 mins with the same riff/ rhythm etc and it's nothing new which really makes this suck hard. I love monotonous but it has to have the production to boot.
