"nurse this erection back to full health wtf"
agreed, but at the same time I think there's something very beautiful about that line. Incompatible is all about how Baths uses his boyfriend, almost like a tool, just for his own purposes and emotionally isn't there for him. with this line, he diagnoses his sexuality into what sounds like a condition that frequently needs to be handled by someone close to him, almost in the way a chemo patient's family members would assist in the recovery at home.
that kind of imagery is why I love this album so much. it's so revealing for Wiesenfeld, and lyrically this thing shows sides of the guy that he certainly isn't proud of. but whir I found immature bliss in Cerulean, I hear disconcerting maturity in this record- it's scary to consider, just like that quote you mentioned and how he would exploit a person like so, but it's incredibly hard for me to not find something endearing about the truths he packs in this- as initially awry as they may sound to us

yea i dig the brutal honesty of that track and at the same time i'm thinking damn this guy is a dick for treating another person that way... takes balls to publish a song like that though so respect... i mean there are a countless songs about general self loathing in the world but the specificity and callous manner of that song really threw me

not like it isnt common for people to use each other sexually in relationships all the time. at least he's conscious of his flaws and is writing about it as a tool to maybe approach it and change
anyways, any one been checking out the new ep?
im just on the first song, Ocean Death, but holy fuck it is incredible. This album took a long time to grow on me and didn't hit me quite the way cerulean did but i think it was because he was trying to go down a much darker route, a transition that would be really hard from Cerulean. From the sounds of the first track on Ocean Death EP it seems like he's nailed it now though. This makes me even sadder that I'm missing him play in Vancouver this weekend :[
Oh well, at least I've seen him once already

i've listened to it a couple times, but haven't really given its due course as far as attention. might give it a go on the ride home from work in a bit

word its like, the best ever
but come to think of it, i heard lovely bloodflow first and fell in love, then was disappointed by cerulean at first cuz i was expecting more along those lines. i dug maximalist and aminals but thought the rest all sounded the same. took a lot of growing time before i connected with it and started loving it, just like this one. i also have another friend who i showed lovely bloodflow and she loved it and didn't like the rest of cerulean. i was :[ but then like 2 months later she texted me that she loved cerulean.

Ocean Death is the best material he's ever done imo. Really encapsulates the darkness/light of his discography thus far.
