"Definitely improved on subsequent albums."
Not by much, they've always had cringey lyrics.

"The crumbling skyline cuts a vicious horizon
Sinking its teeth into the cold September sky"
Definitely got better over time but yeah the lyrics on this album are pretty bad

Oh for sure. I don't look to Parkway Drive for lyrical inspiration, but it's not wrong that the lyrics did get better as their talent grew.
Dead eyes speak in volumes
But our lips refuse to move
Could this ever be the last time?
The final time that we see this through?
Give me the strength to return
Return the breath you've stolen
Give me the means to reset, reset
Her heart I've broken again
Reflections, built upon sorrow
We're walking the darkest roads
Within chests carved with regret

Their best song and its made of scraps lol.
Their lyrics have always been passable up till Atlas and Ire a bit, after that? Idk man they became way worse imo
But after the whole jed and broken glass, byron scene stuff coming out. They can fuck off

I dropped them when Atlas released. I know some folks didn't notice a drop in quality but I think I was so bored with Atlas that I barely remember it. I think the most recent song from them I liked was "Absolute Power" and, yeah, it sounds like classic Parkway Drive but the lyrics are very middling.

Its the boring version of Deep Blue. Such a disappointment and the band only got worse so I pinpoint that album as the start of their insane falloff.

Deep Blue sort of catapulted them into metalcore stardom. Once they got there they got comfortable. And then I think they just got money-hungry and transitioned to the stadium rock garbage. Gone are the days where they just surfed, wrote riffs, and hired dudes who couldn't play the instrument but were fun to have around for the vibes.

Australian tour got announced playing this and Horizons in full. $175 for each show, fuckin ridiculous. Price gouging fans for a nostalgia tour is one way to try and recover your reputation huh
