this one's underrated. I feel like my favorite smith street album is always whatever one I'm in the process of listening to at the time, they're all just so good

And I do feel that they all are quite distinct in their own way.

yeah, I love the more positive vibe in some of the lyrics on this one. like the whole, we're born with everything we'll ever need bit - and lines about the important of friendship. "Young Drunk" is one of their best tracks hands down. In a lot of ways I think this is just as strong as their other LPs

ya, agreed that this has some of their best tracks. I Want Friends is prob in my top 5 smith street tracks. in your late twenties lines like these hit home pretty hard.

I see people that I love melting into mortgages

And low interest bank loans, income tax percentages

And it's all so fucking meaningless

Trivial and self-imposed

It'll kill you if it can, and it wants to.

I started spinning this a lot recently and holy shit, I totally forgot how amazing it is and I need to apologize for everytime I said this release was The Smith Street's worst. Stay Young is massive.

I still think it's their worst, but I underrate this massively sometimes, too. Don't Mention the War's one of my favourite Smithies songs.
