Cygnatti: it's a gimmick because 22 year-old songwriters with 3 full albums in their wake just simply don't write stuff as stupid-cheesy as "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." It is SO obvious a play to her whole Teenage Breakup-Song Queen cliche that it isn't even fun or cute in the context of that--it just feels forced and grossly immature.
It's the kind of thing I expect from P!nk, or Katy Perry, or even (sadly) Kelly Clarkson, and at least they sometimes get creative with it. With Taylor, it just falls totally flat. She has always run the risk of taking her songwriting cliche's too far, but up till now she always stopped just short of the line. This time she crossed it.

katy and kelly, no and no, p!nk's new album is pretty good though
yeah she crossed the line with that song but it seems like you're judging this whole album by it's worse song and first single

Albums are supposed to be judged by their first single, that's what makes a first single important. And I've heard the album...she doesn't display any kind of maturity on the other songs either. Either she's trying too hard to be the old Taylor Swift, or she's trying equally too hard to be a new Taylor Swift--and she is not successful in either venture. She's become a victim of her own cliches.

lol Atavan if you have come only to make personal attacks then I'm afraid you are the one who cannot be taken seriously.
First singles exist for a reason--to represent the album and the artist. This is an obvious fact to 99% of civilized population so I'm not sure how you never got the memo.
Cygnatti: yes I have heard the album--expected my usual couple of guilty pleasures and ended up getting a bunch of overwrought self-parodies.

i have a friend who's going through a break up so ive heard we are never ever ever getting back together so many times that i dont know whats real anymore

would love to know where you're getting your stats from
they "represent" the album or whatever
but if you're judging an album on the basis of its single then you're fucking dumb
