It's one of their best. The Moon is Down is one of their absolute finest tunes, especially the instrumental break

It has a subtle psych, obscure, dirty sonorities that I really appreciate.

Yesss that's another favorite of mine together with Edge of Twilight for similar reasons. The sung parts are deliciously sad and the middle section when it gently speeds up is perfect, its only flaw is how short it lasts

When The Moon Is Down gently speeds up, it's a wink to ''Just The Same'' from Free Hand -which came after-.
Also by ''It has...'', I mean ''Album has...''

This is, without any doubt, the most complex and creative album of Gentle Giant and probably the best work from them. As they mention, it isn't an acquired taste. We must do many repeated listenings of it to can fully ppreciate it in all its glory. It isn't definitively an album to everybody, in a first listening.

This is a real grower. Most of their other releases hit me immediately, while this one took a lot longer.

discog walk; full first time jam of this very good prog gem LP. Much more mature material than their debut album.
