A really consistent solid album if lacking in any magic. A bit style over substance I find. Heavy on the atmosphere accentuated by the one paced percussion through the entire album which brings a sense of cohesion but also results in a certain homogeneity and all songs bleeding into each other. Lack of variety in percussion is a real obvious point for me when I put this album on, and in general all of the songs could be parts of one suite they are that similar in sound, pace and tone. In spite of all this I do enjoy the album. But cast against their back catalogue it doesn’t come close.

Super mega love the opener but haven't been in the mood for the rest in ages. It's time for a revisit.

jumped ahead to this in their discog on a whim, and now even more excited to go back and wrap up checking the rest of the 80s stuff
