Some of it is fun and some of it is forgettable. Nowhere near either their best or their worst.

It's not that bad of a record. I think it suffers from the fact that it had to follow both The Blue Album and Pinkerton which are Weezers best releases. Think of it this way, had they released this after the disaster that was Raditutde, it would have been hailed as a glorious return to form.

i need to listen to it more attentively. i had it on in my car but to be honest it didnt grab my attention in any way no matter how much i tried to listen so i put menzingers on instead. i feel like this might be the end of the road for my weezer discovery.

id say songs from the black hole is worth digging up (its an unreleased concept album that pinkerton came from) and maaaaaaaaaaybe listen to the deluxe version of red (i say that since the four bonus tracks are fantastic as well about half of the regular edition but its low points are horrendous) but yeah i wouldn't look much past that. hurley's alright i guess

Album is tight from front to back. 'Simple Pages' has one of my favourite Cuomo vocal deliveries - have thought that since 2001 and it stands to this day.

Also anybody on a Weezer discovery tour should make their first stop 'Blast Off!' from Rivers' Alone: Vol 1. That song is an original 'Songs From The Black Hole' cut and it absolutely destroys almost every other Weezer song. One of my favourite songs ever.

Why are Island in the Sun and Hash Pipe so damn good and everything else, while never bad, is just the epitome of dull
