http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d_0MgXnDPI - sounds just like everything else

I'm not dissing either band. Just saying this album is wayy overrated. I wish the hardcore scene

would come out with another Jane Doe. But I doubt that will happen ever again. It's become so generic

these days.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU-oD0pvvsI - now that's the kinda hardcore stuff I wanna hear

@toolate yea lol i must collect as many pos's as possible

@brushedred Ok so maybe this is just a point of opinion (and I invite others to weigh in) but that blessthefall song sounds nothing like this band to me. That sounds like a metalcore that I would have passed on even back in my ozzfest days.

I think the bands I discuss (my chemical romance, the used, AFI) make much better comparisons. Other good comparisons: Sleeping With Sirens, Chiodos, Dance Gavin Dance. The Fall of Troy is a stretch but arguably sounds more like PtV than blessthefall.

No. I didn't say Jane Doe sounded like this. I just wish hardcore would do something along those lines

again. But the blessthefall song sounds just like this album.

But I kinda lost respect for ya when I saw you gave an Attack Attack cd a 5 lolz

Not exactly all my favorite bands are on Equal Vision. Lots of generic stuff, but I do like We Came as Romans.. and The Dear Hunter

Equal Vision basically died in 2005 to be honest.

Is this band seriously not the worst thing ever? I remember when some of my asshole friends wouldn't stop jamming that Yeah Boy and Dollface or whatever song it was and it was just awful.

While I'm no fan, I can say that they're not 'the worst thing ever'. But they're seriously not what

everyone on here is making them out to be. They're just generic post-hardcore. Usually the reviewer

and I are on the same wavelength, but I am just disagreeing with this one. It's certainly not anything

over a 3.5, and that's being generous.

wallets if you didnt like yea boy and doll face you prob wont like this, but chances are if you remember the name of one "awful" song from 2007 you probably secretly liked it, and in that case you should check this out

I never said I like I See Stars. They're mediocre, but they're certainly not AS BAD as people on

here make them out to be (in fact "Electric Forest" is a guilty pleasure of mine). I group them

in the same catagory as blessthefall and Pierce the Veil. And I never said I like blessthefall. I

said they sound JUST LIKE this band. And they really do. And what is pierce the veil then? They're

rock, but catagorizing them as rock is just as generic as the music they make. They're not metal.

They're not punk. They're not exactly indie. They're like poppy-post-hardcore; basically the same

genre as I See Stars. Bam.

I know I'm about five pages past the post, but I saw them at Warped tour on main stage. They were actually quite good live. His voice was just about spot on and the songs had generally the same atmosphere as the records. The only song they played from this album was King for a day, and it sounded great. Kellin even came out and did his part. And about the whole pierce the veil being different I totally agree. I have yet to find a band that sounds anything like them. Yes there are other post hardcore or whatever you want to call it that could be lumped in to be "similar" but musically speaking they don't come close enough for me to warrant the use of that word.
