New album isn't on Spotify yet.

new album is fucking great! big salad of genres, there's death, doom, gothic, even a bit of stoner, but they pulled it off well. An Eternity of Lies is amazing. the closer seemed awesome too, but I have a version where the last 2 minutes of the song are cut off, which made me sad a bit:[

I had that one, too. But you can now find the deluxe version with the song in full form and some added goodies.

@SpiritCrusher U must have the Realm of metal rip I assume. They updated the rip though to the deluxe version so Im sure its fixed now

yep, got the deluxe version now, thanks guys. album is a hard 4/5 for me currently. doesn't beat the classics, but I like it more than their last few offerings

No chance? I could see them reverting when their happy phase ends.

IMO MDB have been old school cool for many years now.


New PL: Beneath Broken Earth is stunning.

If their merrier phase ends, I think they'd return to a sound similar to Eternity-A Natural Disaster era, rather than the doom era. They also seem to be inclined to experiment more with the electronica seen in the last tracks of Distant Satellites, whatever their mood may be.

Indeed, that track goes hard. So oppressive.

That's exactly the opposite for me even though there's not much between Anathema, MDB and PL. Katatonia never clicked that much for some reason.

Bumped my rating, much better than what I remembered or the songs just simply grew on me. Fear of Impending Hell and Honesty in Death are especially haunting.
