Been listening to this quite a bit during the last week and I really like it. Shrouded Divine is still my favorite by these guys, but this is like its older brother - it sounds deeper and more mature, and the slower pace fits nicely imo. It's not as infectious as SD, but it's excellent none the less.

How the heck can you sit through this whole album? Way, way too long for it's own good.

I just like the sound on feature here and think that the album is cohesive as a whole. Maybe it could've been like 10 minutes shorter, but I don't mind the length personally.

They will never come close to Shrouded Divine. That was a nice, concise album. A standard time for a Melo-death album should be 40 mins; no more, no less.

Haven't heard shrouded divine, but this album is much better than monolith. That one simply had that distinct quality to their riffs which was simply tiresome. The melodies sucked all the energy out of the listener. Weight of the Oceans doesn't do that, it does the opposite. Oh, and Colossus beats Black Lodge by a mile.

Black Lodge is from Shrouded Divine, dude. You know, the album you said you hadn't heard.

I like "Black Lodge" better as the band's best song, but "Colossus" is very, very close.

In a weird way, Black Lodge isn't even my favorite off Shrouded Divine haha.
