Took me a while to warm up to Shiina's voice but when I did I found it heaven.

Actually had a bit of skeptism going into listening, since she was hyped by some hipster(s) here I remember. So the voice was not the problem. Didn't really know what to expect other than maybe the unique Japenese quality and cute kind of voice. At the same time I didn't expect to dig it although I was curious. Turned out I was right and wrong at the same time. A pleasant surprise, yet not really.

Hyped for good reason, would recommend her albums to anyone to matter what music they listen to.

I just don't think the songwriting is as good as people claim and most importantly, Shiina becomes less of a vocal point and I like her vocal patterns less. Muzai has her youthful energetic wails and tight catchy flow, this has her sheer power and tinge of madness and Gossip has that sense of class while sounding like she's having the time of her life. On Kalk she's just....there...nothing to make her stand out otherwise from her unique tone.

Perhaps that's what I appreciate about the album. While it's a pleasure to listen to her voice, it's nice to hear a little more room, and for experimentation too. Doppelganger, Yatsutsuke Shigoto, Kuki and Souretsu are all top notch imo.

Rejamming this classic, considering 5'ing this. Minus Byoushou Public this is pratically perfect.
