this is better than Street Halo but not quite as good as Untrue.

I kinda wish the cover was better. this is the kind of music I enjoy whilst staring deeply into a matching artwork.

been trying to work out what that motif is at around 1:22 of Loner. I'm finding it difficult to follow

Dev, the ticket was bullshit because I was driving 57 in a 55, which is perfectly fine. Apparently, when I drove past the city limits sign the limit dropped all the way down to 40 mph without a sign. That is why it is bullshit.

You don't need a piece of art to immerse yourself when there's enough atmosphere, enough history in these tracks to help you. It's like Blackdown always said: having the same tools at hand doesn't make you Burial. These tunes are Bevan re-dressing the past, a past he was never apart of except for second-hand stories. It's why everything here is distant and full of echo and mystery, his music is based off of hearsay and conjecture. They're fragments, with the artist trying to assemble them without the knowledge that comes with experience. There's plenty here to get lost in without the help of an art sleeve

I need to control where my eyes are looking though. Keep them closed or something. Honestly, no matter how good the music, the immersion can be ruined if my attention is wandering

@ AnarchistFish - Get the LP. A rotating vinyl works wonders with this kind of music, visually.

These songs just might be the most fascinating electronic music I've heard since... yeah.. Untrue. Can't name a favourite though, each one seems just about equally beautiful to me.

Is this guy really respected within the dubstep/electronic music community, dev

a few of my dj friends go nuts over him and they're big into the heavy dubstep/electronic music community. generally, i've found that people have either never heard of him or they're big fans

Is this guy really respected within the dubstep/electronic music community, dev, or is it just

pockets of people, such as sputnik?

I've seen him spoken about outside of sputnik, met someone who knew who he was, Untrue got quite a lot

of commendations and got nominated for the Mercury Prize (and apparently he was the favourite to win

it), which is a pretty big thing, and his identity got revealed by The Independent, which is quite a

big national newspaper here.

And he did that collab with Massive Attack, which is a pretty big name.

its no subliminal verses but yee

out of all my 5s..?

huge in UK i'd assume

relatively big. not immense among the general public but still not that obscure. he's one of those artists that has a large following but no one seems to talk about much.

just read the tmt review of untrue.

"Burial is one of the most acclaimed dubstep producers out of the scene (dubstep being a kind of trip-hop revival with overtones of downtempo drum ā€˜n’ bass for those of you too busy to follow all the subgenres blistering forth from the UK's hyper-fertile garage and grime scenes)"

simpler times :')
