Whoever bumped this thank you, tempted to rewatch it all now.

Tbh series 3 was that crazy I think it requires another watch.
Even when Season 2 kinda goes off the rails in the middle - towards the end I can let it slide.
No show ever gripped me like this one, some of the best characters ever.
|
| |
it took me like 3 watches of season 3 to finally feel like i had any sort of comprehensive grasp on what the fuck ha-happen

Also, Lynch is so cruel isn't he.
Imagine watching Season 2 in 1991 and having to wait 26 years to find out what happened to Cooper...damn.
|
| |
also we have no one to blame for the lull of season 2 but our fucking parents.

Was it getting flak back in the day for not being soap opera enough or something? That's what the lull felt like in Season 2, the creepy/intriguing atmosphere took a back seat for a few episodes.

Basically wat HA-HAPPEN is
Lynch never planned on solving the mystery of who killed laura in the show. he was gonna save it for the prequel movie. the entire idea of the show was supposed to be that laura's death was merely a seed from which all the rest of the shows stories and character archs branched. But audience members being basic as fuck as they are couldn't handle the fucking mystery of it all and started getting butthurt which put pressure on the network to put pressure on Lynch and Frost to reveal Laura's murderer.
So on one hand, we have boomers to thank for one of the best scenes of the entire series (leland murdering maddy), but on the other hand we also have boomers to thank for defiling Lynch an Frosts creative vision resulting in some truly lackluster and uninspired moments before getting back on their feet.
|
| |
We also have boomers to thank for the show getting cancelled since they stopped caring after they found out who killed Laura and viewership plumeted. So when you call Lynch cruel for making you wait 25 years to find out what happened to Coop, it's the goddmn fucking boomers fault
|
| |
now with all of that carefully considered i have just two thoughts:
1. I wouldn't have it any other way
2. Fuck boomers anyway

Those damn boomers, man.
The film was received so poorly as well wasn't it? It's one of my fave movies of all time tbh, there are plot lines etc that don't match the TV series but whatever, it is supposed to stand on its own.
So underrated.
|
| |
movie was received poorly as well because the boomers felt that it was too dark

Too dark lol, oh the irony.

honestly would love to hear a boomer take on season 3 but i can guarantee you that approxmiately zero have seen it

Watched all three seasons and the movie with my grandma and thought season 3 was too “psychedelic” and made no sense
|
| |
Ur grandma thought that or you did?

"Watched all three seasons and the movie with my grandma and thought season 3 was too “psychedelic” and made no sense"
Well it is certainly trippy af at moments, but it does make sense, though I don't think you can understand the whole thing without researching a little bit afterwards
