They were worse on Dark Passion Play to be honest. Taikatalvi probably has his best vocal performance ever, but I do agree he could have toned it down just a little bit.

1 ,1,5 ,oh dear . In my opinion not even the most generic symphonic female metal bands deserve that score ,certanly this is not the best nightwish work but songs like rest calm , I want my tears back , and the crow ,the dance and the owl are excellent

A friend literally kissed my ass just to give this another go. After giving it another listen I was stunned...it's as if the Blood Hound Gang would try playing djent... Never before does it show how terribly these "musicians" "play" their instruments. Anette, don't even get me started...
Really, the only parts of the album that are worth any shit are the orchestral parts which of course is the only time when Nightwish is out of the picture. Damn, this sucks more than Evanescence does...

Oceanborn would be my 2nd fav. And yeah, it truly is one of the best female fronted symphonic metal albums ever concieved. The problem is, this is much better to my ears, maybe cuz I preffer Anette over Tarja anyday.
