fuck the six fags who negged this review

Well it's not as bad as Lulu. If Metallica and Nickelback made an album, I wonder how bad it will be.
|
| |
I can't believe I used to like this band around the time of Photograph...

Zoidberg says it best.

I guess ttb articulated my point much more succinctly than I did:
"Personally I think this review could've been about half the length and gotten the same point across"
This is really the issue here. And the fact that you didn't go into the album except for one paragraph
Anyways:
"Ironic that xtonix is taking too seriously a review that he claims is too serious."
How is that ironic at all? What, were you educated by Alanis Morissette?
Are you implying I shouldn't take this review seriously?
|
| |
I think Gyro has taken this album as seriously as any album he's reviewed thus far, and there's nothing wrong with it. The band is shit and should be treated as such, regardless of their track record or how many bitches they've boned.

Review is epic.

xtoxin: I'm sure you're terribly sore that I only spent 1 paragraph talking about the 'music' on the album, because I don't at all doubt that you would have loved to have read more song descriptions and such. Let me break it down for you though: every song sounds the same; the themes vary but other than that every one follows the same formula. There really ISN'T much to talk about when it comes to the music, but even still, a good 400 or so words were dedicated to just the music.
|
| |
Also, the review could have been 3 words long and still got the same point across... as could any
single review in the world. I added what I did to give some funny historical context and lead up to
why I hate this album so much. It's not just about the album, it's about the circumstances surrounded
it and the band's approach to music in general.
Can't believe this is nearing the 100 mark for votes.

"I'm sure you're terribly sore"
It's honest criticism, and if you're going to get sore about it, then maybe you should masturbate to how many pos's you get and just ignore your neg's. And yeah I think the first two paragraphs were okay if you had combined them into one. That quote about Slipknot or whatever was irrelevant and didn't even flow except that it was another case of Kroger (sp?) making a fool of himself.
But yeah dude, if you'd rather just get ghost neg's and never improve go for it.
@someguest you contradict yourself.

"This is really the issue here. And the fact that you didn't go into the album except for one paragraph"
Because there's clearly a vast amount of musical variety to talk about here.
Props on a quality review, even if you had to step on this landmine to get here.

| |
That quote is one of a few that helps give insight into Chad Kroeger... it's the entire basis of the
review.
"then maybe you should masturbate to how many pos's you get and just ignore your neg's. "
Lol, you are so out of character today... and I have to laugh at you praising some of my other reviews
which focus even less on the music than this one. Moreover, are you saying that the review is worthy
of neg votes? We'd all like to improve, but your criticisms are super nitpicky to me. Like, had I
added more it would have been really bloated and I'm sure you would have criticized me instead then
for meandering.

@someguest you contradict yourself.
Nope. You feel this band should be given a pass because they've always been shit, and that isn't right.
|
| |
MisterSteel: Thank you. Some of the worst moments from this album are etched in my mind and I hate it, lol. It's kind of like how I couldn't stop replaying 'Crank That' in my mind the year it came out, except I dislike Nickelback even more.
|
| |
Haha I think anyone who listens to music has had plenty of moments like that. You stumble upon something horrible, and no matter what you do, you just can't escape it. You'll go a few days, or weeks, without thinking about it, and then all of the sudden, you'll hear something that just barely recognizes something on the album, and it forces its way back in all over again.
|
| |
"Nope. You feel this band should be given a pass because they've always been shit, and that isn't right."
Nope. I retracted that if that's what I suggested in my statements somewhere.
This is what I meant:
"Gyro has taken this album as seriously as any album he's reviewed "
"The band is shit and should be treated as such" (implication here: don't take them seriously because they're shit)
|
| |
What does that have to do with taking the band seriously? You still go into it hoping it's going to be good. However, you know in the back of your mind it won't be anywhere close.
|
| |
Alright, fair enough. It's still a bit paradoxical imo but makes sense

To be honest, I sort of like 'Dark Horse' just because of the the ballads,
but this is trash.
