hopefully this was just an album to complete their contract with Roadrunner and not 100% artistic vision

It seems to me that sites like this are purely soap boxes for people (probably with no musical talent) to spout negativity. This is quite a good album when you consider how long Megadeth have been at it. One of the standouts for me is the transition from Fast Lane to Black Swan. I agree with others on here that Sudden Death rocks.

Also, the chugging riff at the start of Never Dead leading into the main riff is a special moment for mine.

For me it's the best album after Youthanasia. Can easily stand out there with the best. As per review? Not particularly insightful and well written. Quite biased and condescending. Words like: "...aims his scorn at imaginary things like the Illuminati or the Antichrist. Songs like "New World Order," "We the People," and "Millennium of the Blind" try their hardest to make a statement, but misfire so wildly that it detracts from the experience..". I beg to differ. If you're so deep in the dominant paradigm that can't see other realities, so be it, but don't you think some things are simply symbolical? Just like a Bible references, so many bands do? Classic album, by a classic band

Probably Megadeth's most half-assed album. If there was more time spent on the lyrics I think this album could have

been significantly better. Album title and artwork can't help but make me think they phoned this one in. However, there

are still some decent songs on this album like New World Order

Pretty entertaining album, like a time warp through decades of a great band. The two songs redone are wicked, so is Deadly Nightshade
