any of you extol gamers jammed the album Post Human by Sullen? same dudes who did that grace for succession cover, heavy extol influence. haven't figured my thoughts out on it yet but they write some killer chord progressions

np! i wouldn't say extol is the primary influence, definitely a lot of general prog metal and prog rock vibes floating around, but there are a lot of passages that definitely show resemblance. it is pretty cool to see given how rare that seems to be in metal

np and pretty much like you say, I'm catching Tool, Deftones, but definitely also Extol, in the use of time signatures, chordings, as well as some of the fusion solos which are reminiscent of Borud's
