Stupid Dream isn't one of my favourites to be honest, although I do like it more than anything that came after.
I feel the opposite about Wilson's vocal delivery. His voice sounds so lifeless and lacking in character to me.

Ah, so is it Stupid Dream that people hate (aside from The Incident)? I actually love a few of the tracks from it. It has that distinctive late 90's alternative sound to me.
There are very few lyricists I would say are actually good at it so I never really hold it against a musician unless they write something that grates on my nerves.

Well Wilson can sound plain and without character but in songs like Heartattack in a Layby and Lips Of Ashes, damn he really makes you feel.
