Ride the Lightning is a perfect metal album ranked near the top of my all-time top ten. Heard For Whom The Bell Tolls, albeit on a crappy car stereo tape deck, and it changed my hard music tastes forever. Groundbreaking, inspiring, aggressive metal that more than holds it's own today. Appreciate all the thought about the bigger picture you wrote at the beginning of your review. Needed and well received.
