I think people are being a bit harsh on this album. I think it has a fresh sound and as much as I loved Johns epic guitar solos all over Stadium Arcadium, it's good to finally hear Flea and Chad doing their best work since mothers milk. However it is a very hit and miss album. "Monarchy of Roses", "Brendan's Death Song", "Look Around", and "Did I let you know" are fantastic

Personally I enjoy John's solo work far more than anything the Peppers have done lately.

One of the strongest tracks on the album imo.

Album is awesome, and at least the loudness war isn't as bad as californication. I'd love John to return though, or more importanly for him to release an album again!

It'd be weird if John returned but Josh stayed on in the band.

"Rain Dance Maggie" or whatever has some pretty fucking terrible lyrics but I like the basswork and the feel of the songs. I wonder if the rest of the album is like that. It could be a 3.5 then.

Raindance is probably the most simple song on the album...

It's the worst fucking thing they've ever done. Apart from maybe Hump De Bump.

They are dead without John. Just like One Hot Minute was..that album sucked....Californication and Stadium Arcadium are their 2 best albums, hands down...if you haven't heard this yet and are curious, thinking and hoping it will sound anything like Arcadium..it doesn't....if it sounds like ANY album, it sounds like By the Way, but By the Way is 1000x better than this...one word can describe this album....boring. Waited 5 years for another great record and was so disappointed, I can't even explain it.
