Bullfuckingshit. If this didn't have Morbid Angel's name on it, it would still sound exactly the same - incredibly shitty. Just because the band made some great albums around two decades ago doesn't mean their shit doesn't stink, and this *is* their shit. That IS putting things into perspective - treating a horrible turd like what it is, regardless of who shat it out. Nobody's giving in to anything "unrealistic"(what does that even mean) in calling a spade a spade, there's no train to jump, it's just a fact that this is inexcusably awful music. Of course people would ignore this if it weren't Morbid Angel's album - because it blows. Saying anything else is about putting things OUT of perspective and making sure that you have an opinion that's different and unique, because any opinion or belief that's popular must by necessity by ignorant and doopid!

In closing:

KILL A COP COP KILL A COP /not so bad, 2.5, lol guise!

I've certainly been put in my place then.....It's the fact that there is worse out there and yet, you all compare this to their older stuff when clearly, they outlined in interviews that this is going to be far different and yet you probably went into this thinking it was going to be the big come-back and they failed you. This sounds a hell of alot like Heretic (minus the electronic parts) so and that album fairs well within the metal community.

Well now that you said that it's gonna happen.

'Heretic' sucks too, just not as much as this or 'Domination'. A A# B C F are the only albums from this band that are really worth anyone's time.

I agree with Wizard here

if you try not to look at it as a death metal album gone wrong and rather a nod to a nu-metal/industrial rock album gone wrong, it's.... better. The death metal side of this album is alright (in fact, I think it sounds like a tighter GWAR). It's probably the only thing diehard fans have to hold on to, as the rest of the album is bound to alienate everyone who has ever followed them. A big name cult death metal band such as Morbid Angel gives certain expectations to people, so this kind of ridiculousness would have been better suited to a more well defined industrial rock side project aimed at those audiences who would be more receptive and forgiving.

"We have grown out of the moniker of death metal. We call ourselves extreme music," he said. "There are too many boxes to put it in — so many descriptors! We play extreme music and it encompasses everything from incredibly fast and articulate fretboard gymnastics to the sickest, most moaning of riffs, to the usual things we do. We take it for a twist."

"We made a masterpiece. I am going to call it that. There is not one bad track on this record. Of course I am going to say that, but I don't normally say such things. It is very unique and very diverse. We didn't go through the normal channels with production, so it's that's much more special because of the decisions we made.
"

David Vincent sucks now. Can't believe this is the guy that gave that legendary interview with that French journalist who kept asking him gay questions, shit was so metal.

That's like saying your expectations won't be dashed so long as you expect shit. Actually, it's not
like saying that at all. It IS saying that. DURRRR. How zen.
