gaga is a perfect example of super stardom in the US... if you're born rich and have all the connections in the world, you can get whatever you want.

i don't see it as marketing i just think Gaga's genius only goes so far and her smart fans and
reviewers are going to be disappointed by her lack of indie maturity or sophisticated philosophies
cause she hasn't figured itall outyet

she's still tryin to be a hero

review is a perfect example of the herd mentality on sputnik... if you are popular on here and write a review, you can get people to immediately think whatever you want.

Agreeing with meatplow's every word, although for me album is good from mid-late excluding Edge of Glory.

I agree completely with Meatplow on the middle of the album being the best, most of the songs in that section of the album have the best beats and themes. The weaker tracks are starting to bring this down for me but there is some great stuff on this. You & I is fantastic and you all know it.

I have a weird relationship with Lady Gaga
I don't pay attention to her public image or care about her views and opinions on anything, or look at her in context of whatever else is happening in pop culture at the moment, I just listen the music. Most people seem to forget about it and completely write it off as poorly written and hacked together after the fact, but i've never understood this. It is vibrant and refreshing modern synthpop to me.
I agree with Chan's sentiment that most of her detractors in the past hate her for stupid reasons, but as far as this goes I don't see any immediate trainwreck on the horizon for now. At worst much of this album could be accused of being mediocre, or derivative, but I don't feel there is a single moment on here that bothers me enough to well... bother.

time to break out the water cannons
I think you secretly always have them at the ready

"is that a water cannon in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

I'd say most people are just rating this based on the single, so it is probably appropriate.
|
| |
where are users getting off accusing sputnik of rating this without listening, of rating based on singles, or rating based
on chan's rating? each one of those accusations is equally absurd

that's cool and neutral-like but when your done chilling and rubbing your ears off there is more going on in culture to be talked about, if your down for it

Chan, I hope you never leave us. Great review. Genuinely dislike everything I've heard from this. My roommate has been blasting every single from this as much as possible. Don't know why people like that shit.
