The Eno-Knott-Sea alliance. That's powerful right there.
But I will not be swayed.

Yeah, sad to say it, but TDAG sorta wore off on me... it's not bad, I just listen to it very infrequently... whereas this is much more consistently lovable/playable.

This is slightly less depressing, probably draws more listens.
I know for me though when that chorus to Sowing Season kicks in and I don't finish the whole album, it feels like I held in a sneeze or something.

PS Sowing I didn't get a chance to read this til now, but I love it : ) Your all-too-accurate first paragraph about family vacations made me smile haha

This has kind of lost its appeal to me, but some of their best songs are here.

the thing about tdag is that it's way more cathartic and is obviously just a more ambitious project, but the length and how depressing it is makes it hard to fully delve into.
deja to me is just the perfect synthesis of their really great pop-punk shit and their moving lyrics. it's perhaps not as deep, but it feels instantly more relatable and nostalgic.

my favorite is "the quiet things that no one ever knows"
in their acoustic set when they played it, his singing during the verses sounded almost a bit like mozza, it was beautiful

"Okay I believe You, But..." is one of their best songs, it might even top everything on TDAG. It's just so... honest. For me, nothing else on the album quite matches it, but I still love tracks like "Sic Transit" and "The Quiet Things..." TDAG seems more cohesive though, and I'm drawn to because of how much darker and relatable it is. I would actually say it's probably more accessible than this and their one album I slipped into with ease.

For me it is between Tommy Gun, Me vs. Maradona vs Elvis, and Play Crack the Sky.
Not sure if I could pick a favorite out of those. Oh and I like Tautou more than most.

Spin Light is the best, don't front. Me v Maradona v Elvis and Guernica are close though

What's left of the pop-punk sound is really the only thing that lags here. Both albums are amazing and pour with emotion but there's just something about TDAG.

I.. wow. This review is, just... wow.
And the album is.... WOW.
