Well, it was a terrible review, like others said, especially for those who don't reall know much about Slipknot. For their CD's though.
Self title - 5/5
Iowa - 5/5
Subliminal Verses - 4/5

Slipknot is a terrible band based on all their albums, but i can say this album was pretty respectable, alot of aggression as well as creativity.

Great album, even better review. You have alot of the similiar thoughts about this band/album that I have. I would have reviewed this, but it would be close to a clone of this review.

This is their best album.,

Too many of their songs are too sloppy and Corey's voice gets irritating when he screams on preponderance of the songs. There's only a few on the songs that I liked from them.

YOU CANT SEE CALIFORNIA WITHOUT MARLON BRANDO'S EYEZ!!!!
I seriously don't see how anyone can enjoy this album. Even back when I was a nu-metal kid I hated this album. And the years have not changed a thing.

LOL a kid I know said that they write deep lyrics and used that as an example. I thought it was the funniest thing I had ever heard.
He made me listen to the whole album, and the first half was hilarious, because these guys can barely write a riff, let alone a song. Towards the end, though, I just got tired of laughing and turned it off and told the kid he needed to get some taste.
Seriously, most of these songs go: intro riff, verse w/less interesting riff, chorus w/intro riff behind it, verse again, chorus, chorus, chorus, chorus. If people are rating them on their ability to drag out a song that should only last for 40 or so seconds, then they get a 5, but this is an example of some of the worst songwriting I've ever heard.

I find it funny how if one person says the word death metal people freak out about slipknot being death metal, ok guys, this reviewer obviously finds slipknot sounds like some death metal bands, thats his opinion and he can stick with it, and Vol.3 isnt Slipknot, its Stone Sour with Slipknot members
Oh and for the guy above me, if you dont like slipknot, why did you take time from your life to look them up and write about how much they suck, honestly grow up.This Message Edited On 08.02.07

one of the best metal records I have heard in a very long time. I heard it back in 2002 and (sic) still holds the agression it did back then. Highly recommened

Meh. Loses everything it has going for it when you heard a real metal album.

Slipknot are decent dude.

Like I said, meh. MKFR was cool, this was ok, Iowa was ok, Vol 3 was meh. Overall, mediocre at best.

Sublimal was absolute garbage. Full stop

Slipknot are not real metal when you're comparing them to Opeth or In Flames, but they still are fairly brutal for the nu metal genre, and I think they do what they do pretty well...I'm always down for listening to those maching guns AKA Joey's feet.

No, they really arent... I gave their most recent one a chance and this one another chance, and they can't carry a song at all. Their "long" intros are always the same bar played over...and over...and over, then they have really out of place turntables, mediocre clean vocals, harsh vocals that really aren't harsh and all their songs are completely predictable.
Joey's drumming is decent, but he does absolutely nothing that hundreds, if not thousands of drummers can do much better. One of this band's main hooks is the double-kick because none of the mall kids had even heard double-kicking before they bought this, so they compare it to what they listen to and it's "mad tite y0!"
