I want to buy this so much, it's killing me not downloading it. Fuck my OCDedic tendencies to buy all my music on CD.

This really has a lot to live up to in my eyes. Not only in the context of Atheist's discography, but also against recent metal releases. The new Enslaved, The Sword and Agalloch albums are all strong front-runners for my AOTY. And i can't forget about Option Paralysis and Diamond Eyes...

Still have a good feeling about it, though. And i'm definitely gonna wait on listening to it until the day it comes out.

the riffing is extremely generic, especially for a band of atheist's calibre. you can find the same type of riffs sans a few of the ones that actually enhance this album on just about any "in" db ripoff deathcore hybrid band, or most pure tech death bands. i dont care if atheist set the standard and blueprint for tdm riffing 20 years ago, its trite now.

now dont think i use the term "generic" pejoratively like most other people here, this release just isn't that exciting.

The new Atheist is better than Gnostic... it feels more developed and complete.

Sweet are the vocals different than that of gnostic? I ask because ive never actually heard an atheist album before.

The vocals are better too. Kind of a shout, instead of the weak rasp of Gnostic.

way to overexaggerate...no two songs in existence sound exactly the same, much less any two bands. like i said i don't use the term 'generic' negatively, but clearly you assume it's a bad thing. and if all brutal death metal is generic as you say, what relevance does that have at all to atheist?

Lots of out-standing musicianship here, but ultimately fails to 'impress' me the way Unquestionable Presence does/did (and by that I mean this record is far from that), idk maybe it'll grow on me
