Nope. Lucky I'm sitting down.

Ummm, I'm unsure Billy. It depends what you have thought of their past work. I think it's worth a shot as you may like tracks like 'The Fire' & New Years Eve. If you haven't already, go to the band page & look at the 3 news posts that have songs. Those 2 are there via a link.

@andcas That link you posted was one of the videos I saw of them! It was just so terrible! There's hardly any videos of Buddy live when he's not at least a little drunk.

So this is my first Senses Fail album, and so far it actually rules. Title track is amazing.

Glad to hear you like it BassDemon. Be sure to check out Still Searching & Let It Enfold you as well, since you'll like one of them at least.

"only song that is cringe worthy is the opening to their encore song..." On one of the YouTube clips, didn't he say they don't do encores?

Billy, in a way, this actually may be the best place for you to start, as it is the best example of being in-between the heavy & catchy that the band perform. If you like it, you can then decide which direction you go in next.

I really like the heavier songs on this CD, they're so much...for a lack of a better word...better it makes the chorus' sound much more hook-worthy.

and the aggressive guitar shows some pretty beast song-writing ability.

but I will agree with basically everyone saying this is a definite #2. Can't touch SS.

Agree on your 1st point PB. In fact, I had a very similar point in my notes. From memory, I didn't use it in the review though... Or did I? Who knows, I agree. They've basically kept the heavy songs without sacrificing the catchiness.

I'm not going to lie Davey, I just officially listened to the entirety of the CD today, I've been listening to tid bits here and there. and Finally life boats caught me pretty off-guard. soooo I got off the Ice Nine kills/chiodos kick and gave this a fair listen and was fairly impressed.

That being said, I haven't really gone into what I would call a legit read-over on the reviews yet. I would like to formulate my opinion before I go over reviews.

but I'm starting to think you and I like to agree, alot.

Hehe. Yeah, if I'm saying I like the heavier scream-filled Lifeboats & Coward, then there must be something to them.

Honestly Davey I never quite imagined you would be into anything to do with Screaming. I guess I shouldn't be so blind, considering it's no secret you liked Stuff like SF.

either way, it's cool to see you are jamming the harder tracks. I'm going to give the review a read now. Figure I've put it off long enough.

so yeah man. We pretty much 100% agree on every point.

there is how-ever one..small...annoyance I have with this CD, and maybe it's just me, but I feel like the song "Headed west" has such a definitive missing hook.

at the start of the chorus where he belts out "I'm headed west, ... " and his voice goes from low to high, I almost feel like the chorus would have been more pleasing if his vocals could have gone on that little pitch roller coaster. maybe add in some catchy type of guitar wankery ..I duno, random thing to point out but it..is close to bugging me, but not..quite..

Davis stop deceiving people. You know you're a hippie-hipster, trying to be anything else is just sooo wrong. Andcas I think after a while Buddy would be smart enough to wait to get drunk after he performs, bc its plain stupidity and kinda rude to all their fans for him to do otherwise. People aren't payin to see such horrible performances, and yet he does it without care.

PB, I think you forgot about one thing: EMERRRRRRRRRY. They have "some" screaming. I guess it depends on the kind of screaming with me. The fact you can understand Buddy more often than not when he is screaming is one huge positive.

Re: 'Headed West', I do know what you mean. I think they are trying something different with that song... & it doesn't really work, but also doesn't fall flat either. Maybe they had a bet each way & that's it's problem.

LG, I thought I was turning into a hipster there for one moment... Then I listened to Deerhunter to see if it could be confirmed. I felt nothing (thankfully).

Eh, just seems really derivative, nothing too special about them.
