An extremely decent traditional black metal album, but I have to say I prefered them when they were symphonic/melodic and had the more varied vocal style. Even the conservative metalcore influences added something to the music. I'd say this is weaker than their previous effort but still pretty awesome. It's good to see an american band able to do such a good impression of early Emperor.

They're kinda different. This is way less symphonic than the first album. Still very melodic though, as I mentioned a few posts above.

Yeah, it's still pretty melodic, just not as melodic as their previous stuff. I'd probably call this a less thrashy Immortal meets early Emperor. As I say, still very good, but I guess I'm a bit of a guilty sucker for over the top melody/epicness.
