Honestly? peoples just giving 5/5 or "classic" tag for this just because in it's time was hugely comented but is nothing more than a set with good pop songs and a beatle-esque mental egos.

It has some good songs on it, but others that are alot weaker. It may be their best but that doesn't mean it is a classic other than - as said above - it was hyped alot at the time. The same really goes for other famous Britpop groups at the time like Blur, The Verve, Pulp. I don't get the feeling that any of them were Britpop at it's peak or best British album or whatever else people say here. Before you say that hear every Britpop album, hear every British album.

A perfect britpop album imo, great songs the entire way through. The production is also magnificent imo, the vocals just wouldn't be the same with that long delay on his voice.
I've been thinking for awhile, but I think "Some Might Say" is probably the pick of the lot, huge song.

The whole record is pretty much timeless
Seeing how they ripped the whole thing off other timeless bands, yeah I can get that

Besides The Beatles(ugh), what other bands did they "rip off"?

The Beatles don't really compare imo, yes, there's heaps of 'similar' elements, but the finished product is a lot different. There's heaps of elements of 90's rock music in this album, from the huge production to large amounts of gain on most of these songs - you never heard that on any Beatles records.
