FlawedPerfection-

I know you're right about Michigan and all that, and Funeral being one of the largest influences for the resurgence. And I hope I didn't imply that you were saying they created something, because I did clearly note that you regarded it as a resurgence in the review. I'm also sure that you didn't mean to impart what I picked up off the first paragraph, but that's why I commented on it, constructive criticism and all, that you may or may not agree with.

To be honest, if that first paragraph was more like your response I would have no complaints. Wherever an objective statement is made, a subjective qualifier is always nearby to be found, you also took the time to compliment Sufjan which prevents it from being an attack, and you really explained why you were saying what you were (which was clear in the first place but in my opinion still needed). If all of those qualities were in the review I think it would have been damn near perfect.

Anyways, I didn't mean to make an argument or anything out of it, just to say what I picked up and offer up that perspective to your review.

Fair enough. I see your point. If I get the chance, I'll try to edit some of the language.

what are they like? I see stuff about them get posted all the time but they've always seemed a bit... inaccessible.

3.5 for me right now, but I also felt that way with Funeral when I first heard it. I'll give it a few more listens before I give my rating.

The main problem I have with this album is that it isn't funeral...

I know what you mean... It is a good album, but I just don't see myself playing it anywhere near as much as Funeral

Most of that is based on how amazing it was the first time I listened, but I haven't actually gotten to that level again. Likely I'm bumping down

This album is a tad bit underwhelming, and I'm listening to it stoned too. I don't quite know how to feel about it right now.

3.5 after one listen. Will probably grow to a 4. Don't see it going any higher though.
