It took me many years of realizing it, but this inches out Phobia as their best album for me. It’s just so damn catchy

I believe it's actually "you are an asshole" but yours is way funnier

I take it back. This and Phobia are both equal

I was about to say something similar haha. Honestly I think I more or less enjoy all of their records the same lately (maybe with Ember at the bottom)

Yeah Ember might be my least fav from them. The screaming vox and aggression felt very forced and tacked on with very little sincerity, plus it was less memorable than DBD which by itself was pretty much a retread of all their previous work.
This and Phobia both have very memorable songs and have a different vibe overall.

Instrumentally decent, vocals are obnoxious though.

we are not alone is like
the pinnacle of this whole genre/movement/music ever of all time all genres for me in a way so yeah no!

Truly not their best

Honestly think this might be one of my favorite TheSpirit reviews, even if I don't particularly care for what's being reviewed. That summary in particular is golden.

some of the melodies here are bizarre but i think it's charmingly bizarre

It's interesting to see some strongly negative opinions on the vocal delivery on this album. I've been listening to this since so long ago that I feel extremely accustomed to the weird way he might chew his words here and there. And he always bears such emotion, the choruses in here are infectious.

You know what, I take that back. Ben sounds amazing here. He's not a good vocalist but here it doesn't show, and his voice's not half as processed and on the later albums.
This second factor is why We Are Not Alone is unlistenable to me.

He's not a great singer but the man knows how to write a goddamn chorus
