Oh, shit

I feel late to the party

Uhm I'm gonna reply to tkxxx anyway...

tkxxx: Whatever I Say is Royal Ocean had the whole "Robot With Human Hair" thing going for them. The songs are like a multi-part story/song. It's freaking awesome. Plus, DTBM and DTBMII are the most obviously scene-kid oriented albums outside of metalcore. Seriously, "Surprise! I'm From Cuba, Everybody Has One Brain," "It's Safe To Say You Dig The Backseat" and "Heat Seeking Ghost Of Sex?"

Those are what I call cringe worthy. That and in the beginning of Thug City, with the "YEEEEEEEEEEAH BAYBAY, DANCE GAVIN DAAAAAANCE, DOWN TOWN BATTLE MOUNTAIN TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Did I mention how they fucked over Kurt because Jonny's a douche? Or how Jonny fucked over his fans to get drug money, or how he showed up to almost every concert drunk?

Happiness was where DGD lost it for good.

also, Danielito, I love your avatar. It's like sex, if I laughed enough to shoot milk out of my nose whenever I had sex (I do)

Also, imo Sesame Street is No Place For Romance and When the Wolf is Counting Sheep are the best songs on the album. It has to be listened to all the way through to fully appreciate it though.

It's from a graphic novel called Far Arden. There's a lot of hilarious one-panel jokes that I have ready to make my avatar. I'm probably going to be changing my avatar soon enough, and you can bet it'll also be funny.

Doesn't matter. Happiness was and still is their musical peak.

My point is that I liked Whatever I Say the best, with the Self Titled coming close behind. Happiness was alright, and a lot better than DTBM or DTBM2, but still not the same.

You're entitled to your opinion, and I disagree, but I still respect it etc etc.

Lol nice sound off. Completely forgot about the new album though. It's been a while since I checked up on them, so I'm sure they're much farther along now.

I've been organizing my thoughts on the newer song, and I've decided I don't like the new direction.

What made this album so amazing was the instrumental work. It was spastic, eclectic, and progressive in the truest sense of the word. It kept you guessing, and rarely went back to the same idea without improving on it.

The new song is incredibly vocal-driven. Not only are the vocals on top of the mix, but they absolutely dominate and control the song. Also, here is no real experimentation besides the goofy "la la la" breakdown, which fell flat on its face. The guitar lines, while retaining some of the technical skill from Plan B, repeat endlessly.

Also, the keyboard and violin are buried deeply in the mix. If they're there, I cant hear them.

If you disagree hit me with a wall of text.

I wish this band wasn't so directionless with their sound, they've def got a lot of potential.
