Mine too. Still hold this, IAW, SFAM and SDOIT in high regards. Everything else ranges from decent to meh.

this and Images are the only 2 I'd ever maybe spin again; although all the stuff before Train is solid (including WDADU).

Def. Hell's Kitchen is prob a top 10 DT song for me. Have always loved that track. So Simple and so good.

I think FII's very underrated. Most of the songs are pretty good and I don't really get bored while listening to it.

The weakest tracks on that are probably You not me, Burning my soul, and just let me breath. I'm so close to 4ing it.

Hollow years, Anna Lee and Lines in the sand are amazing. I can listen to some of the songs but the whole album's kind of a chore to listen to me.

3 or 3.5 for me.

Yeah 3's pretty much the average rating for it. It seems more interesting especially looking back at it now with the release of ADTOE. It's just not what ADTOEs is and I think that makes it refreshing now even though it might not have been back in the day. Looking at overall the discog FII seems to be a good cog in the machine.

DT albums are usually too lengthy, reaching the max limit of a CD. I think they need to prioritise now, quality or quantity. I&Ws was what? 55 minutes?

well, at that time DT went from this album to FII, so i can see where the bad rep and dissapointment came from. It's good, but meh compared to this.
Also the keyboard element of the band peaked with Awake imo. It all went downhill with the Rudess and Petrucci wanking duels.

True to a certain extent about the keyboard bit. I think Dereks contributions to the band were really good, and of course we know about Kevins.
I love Jordan but I think his prowess is kind of forced and used by Petrucci and Portnoy. I mean yes he loves the wankery but if yuo hear his more melodic elements there are a lot of terrific contributions. They get drowned in the mix unfortunately. Plus if yuo watch his youtube videos you see how many new intruments he picks up and his experimentation.
I do think that he needs to include more of the vintage instrumentation and that he should play the actual instruments on records like the Hammond, Mellotron, Wurlitzer etc. rather than the synthesised sounds he uses. Nothing can beat the organic tones of the originals, esp the beautiful Hammond Organ.

I think 6DOIT is a good example of Jordans tasteful contributions.
