lol yeah I wasn't suggesting that that's why you bought it.

criminally overlooked album by them. The Songwriting is immaculate.

Agreed.

Now that I've listened to the entire folk trilogy I'd say that they're all very good but this one's the best, beating Songs from the Wood by just a hair.
Rover and the title track are definitely in my top 10 Jethro Tull songs.

Moths is top 1 for me.

I totally forgot about Moths, that song is amazing as well.

Very nice review. The album is indeed spectacular and criminally underrated.

Both Rover and One Brown Mouse are the weakest here to me, but they're still good songs.

Underrated album tbh, I like this way more than Minstrel...

In fact, Rover is my least favorite, but it's still good so I bump my rating up.

rover and the closer are probably my least favorites

Hey Toronto ;) The closer is a grower. I have the intention to revisit all the Tull I rated a 4 or a 4.5, to see if I can upgrade them...

i'll probably end up listening to their other folk albums in hopes that they're as good as this.
And the leaded window opened....

Minstrel in the Gallery is a big piece of music to swallow with the epic Baker St.Muse. I could never know if I rather like that song or not. I guess one has to be in the mood.
@Toronto, When you pass Heavy Horses, don't miss the underrated ''A'' and, particularly, ''Roots to Branches''. Keep on mind that Ians' vocals are not the same at this point, because he suffered of a serious throat surgery.

thanks jethro, will listen to those as soon as i listen to Songs from the Wood. That one looks intriguing as fuck.

It's my pleasure. Songs from the Wood is really excellent. The only one I use to skip is ''Ring out, Solstice Bell''. I'm not exactly a fan of ''Cup of Wonder'' either, but all the rest rules.
