the only song I think I really can't get that much into on here is Born of a Broken Man but only the verse section of the song.the chorus is awesome! For me it's Sleep Now In the Fire, Tesify, Guerrilla Radio, Maria, and Calm Like a Bomb.

Anyone here find Pitchfork's wokeness to be opportunistic and pandering? Sometimes they get it right but most of the time it sounds like they have no idea what they're talking about, like they're just slotting leftist buzzwords in their reviews in order to look smart. I feel like they think they're smarter than the liberal blog sites, but they still have takes about how the Obama administration was a "golden era" for America, that the JLo & Shakira NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show was an important attack against racism, and that Justin Bieber's "Sorry" is about Bieber examining his white privilege in the mist of Black Lives Matter protests.

I think the blogosphere in general is cringe when it comes to nuanced political takes.

There was a time where a lot of my opinions were more or less parroting from the blogosphere, which was mainly due to having zero confidence in my own opinions. I'll admit, they set me in the right direction, but that's all they ever did. Once I had more confidence in myself, the blogosphere started to grate on me.

I think a big reason video essays have overshadowed blog criticism is because video essays feel more informal, as it's easier to grasp the inflection of what's being said visually and audibly. Blogs still have an authoritative tone, that they're the ones who command the discourse and have the final word on the topic at hand.
