I'm sure at least 10 of those pos votes are from Killer9 alts.

One of them was from me. As I just said above, I strongly disagree with the review's viewpoints. However, the reviewer (DeliriumTrigger) carried them across well, so I pos'd.

It wasn't well written

I disagree with many of the points made here, but it's well written and it's interesting to read an opposing opinion. That so many people have neg'd it is disappointing. Pos'd.

I did enjoy the review, even though I disagree with everything you said.

"No Surprises" doesn't lag in the middle, not in the slightest.

"Paranoid Android" doesn't feel like chopped up bits of everything.

Thom Yorke's vocals, though he does mumble, are far from lazy. I want you to listen to "Fake Plastic Trees" and tell me he's lazy.

To me your biggest problem seems to be that you are incapable of enjoying subtlety.

This, 100% this. Considering you also said earlier that you dislike Indie...

how can you compare nickelback to the beatles and radiohead?

radiohead experiment and change their sounds considerably with every release and their music requires more than a little thought.

aside from that and a few grammar mistakes the review wasn't horrible. i'll neither neg nor pos

Lol at anyone taking this review seriously. You all seem to forget he made a list saying he was going to 1.5 a 'Sputnik Favorite', even the negs are giving him attention

This is a good review. While I don't hate this album, some of the things you mentioned are what keep it at a 3.5 for me. I will also tell you that just about everyone that negged you has this rated at a 4 or higher, which makes sense considering there's not actually anything wrong with the review (a few spelling errors).

anyone who puts nickleback in a radiohead review loses a ton of credibility for me. yes both bands are popular, but the differences are enormous between the two. radiohead albums have a tremendous amount of depth in both the musicianship and lyrics. nickleback releases the same song over and over with different lyrics and makes millions off of this technique that anyone with an ounce of musical knowledge would be able to catch. yes, it is true that some people are not going to be the biggest fans of radiohead, but you can't for a second compare them to as shitty a band as nickleback.

I can see that reading comprehension isn't your strong point. The nearest the review comes to a comparison of the two bands is to state that both bands wrote songs that were bound to be popular and good driving music. This may or may not be a troll-review, but it doesn't excuse everyone else from mindless stupidity.

Extremely snobbish review. Consists entirely of minimal, yet outlandish statements about the album.

oh come on. the music of the two bands are so vastly different that you can't even put them in the same paragraph. it's a terrible analogy. why don't you just put lady gaga in the review then too? i think a lot of people listen to her while driving. don't give me shit about "mindless stupidity" if you can't even understand my comment. in order to make an analogy there has to be something to compare the two bands. nickleback was bound to be popular because they made radio-friendly rock and absolutely nothing else. radiohead at the time of their arrival was a genre-breaking band that no one had anticipated. there are countless bands that make generic rock anthems like nickleback. AND what is "good driving music" anyways? that is such a subjective term that it doesn't even mean anything.

If you want people to take your opinions seriously, you probably shouldn't compare The Beatles to Nickelback. You never really state a negative thought about the album, you just reduce it with terms like "basic guitars" and "needless noise".

You might as well describe music as a whole as "irritating frequencies altered and arranged".

I'm sure this was mostly just to piss off the fan boys and make them reach for anything they can use to bitch about how wrong the review is… mission accomplished.

Come on guys. This review isn't fantastic and it isn't terrible and shouldn't be starting this much of a fuss. This is a little disappointing honestly.

I would actually enjoy to see what a 1 review of a Coheed album would look like. However is seems most people on here don't feel like that.
