This is cool though they kind of annoying. Not because the 'fake' thing I just don't find their music all that exciting. It's just not bad

While Vampire Weekend's debut album was front-loaded if anything, the first half of follow-up LP 'Contra' (all 15 minutes of it) floats by hardly leaving an impression. Slicker, yet more experimental & mellow, a natural progression is evident with a few bells & whistles simply being added to consolidate the indie afro-pop sound of their debut. But while it's all still relatively fun listening, 'Contra' is less immediate, catchy & memorable, with only 'Giving Up The Gun' hitting a bullseye. Recommended Tracks: Giving Up The Gun, Cousins & Run.
