he changes his person of speaking often too, whether first, second, or third, but i'm pretty sure that's intentional to open the thing for interpretation

brothers on a hotel bed is the best on here though

This album sends you straight into a meditative state....I try not to listen to it more than like three or four times a year because it wears off so quickly, but when I do, oh man.

This album should have a much higher rating than it does. This is by far their best album to date.

Album is very underrated. Not as good as Transatlanticism, but better than their latest two releases (from what I've heard of the last two).

I just watched Friends with Benefits, and I Will follow You Into the Dark played. I forgot how great that song was. I wish that instead of pursuing that synth sound in Codes and Keys, they headed for a more Indie Pop direction (with the general charm of a Death Cab song, of course; not your generic pop)

If it weren't for tracks 7 and 8 I would probably 4.5 this. And I like this better than Transatlanticism. That album is a bit too depressing.

bland and seriously lacking in anything resembling edge or backbone, even compared to the rest of

their discography.

Why are you looking to Death Cab for Cutie for edginess?

I mean, I'm not going to give them a 1.0 for not having death metal growls

Really love this album. I need to hear Transatlanticism so bad. I wouldn't mind if anyone wants to be a pal and send me a link for it. :p

this makes Trasatlanticism sound like a Glenn Branca album though, it's too safe even for Death Cab
