I can't quite put my finger on it(them) but when I listen to this I can't quite help but feel that there's stuff on here that I have heard on metalcore albums. They are some very metalcoreish breakdowns here that a start.

I don't really see this as metalcore or melodeath, there's not enough hardcore or death metal, it takes a lot of influence from both though

It is a really great album but for albums in the same vein, I think Clayman by In Flames is slightly better. Doomsayer slays!!
