i didn't mean that in a bad way hype like its easily one of my fav songs by them but i'd say its pretty damn different from almost everything else theyve done. i mean it has the complex beat work of their tri repetae era stuff but then a lot of the melodic work of amber but then a pretty distinctly different structure from anything else they'd done at the time and waaayyyy more focus on emotional value
idk that songs always just stuck out to me

i actually kind of feel you on the percussion thing which is why i tend to prefer their later work cause they got way way more experimental and interesting with how they approach percussion (among other things) but i think it still works really well on lp5/chiastic slide and parts of tri repetae and amber

idk though i think rae pretty much defines the kind of sound they were going for at that time, i mean just listen to something like C/Pach and tell me it doesnt sound pretty similar to the kind of themes on rae

you might like quaristice then there's a lot of stuff similar to that track (especially the last two songs and paralel suns) but there's also a lot of stuff on it u would probably really hate from what u have said
idk that albums a really mixed bag honestly they easily cover the widest range of styles on it but its also unlike almost any of their other material as a result
