NIN was on tour with Bowie to support his Outside album and collaborated for Bowie's hit single I'm Afraid of Americans (who NIN has also been known to play on stage since that song's release); We're in this Together is Trent making his own version of Bowie's song "Heroes" which greatly inspired the song with obvious homages to "Heroes"'s lyrics. It's also a fuckin great video wtf
