to give my prospective to the genre thing, neurosis pretty much founded the genre called post metal with enemy of the sun. but neurosis where always quite different than any band in existence. though they are an influence for a viarity of bands including mastodon, disbelief and the whole post and atmospheric sludge metal genre.
