It's not hard to imagine at all. The same reason the Tony Martin albums are shit on by the Sabbath fans. New guy replaces icon, band goes in new direction to accommodate, old fans hate it as a rule. This album isn't nearly as awful as we're led to believe, and it honestly bums me out that one of the greatest metal voices of all time was wasted fucking around in Priest.
I get endless shit for saying Tony Martin is the best Sabbath vocalist, even acknowledging that the albums he sang on were a step below the classic era.
