This is nowhere near as good as their debut. Disappointing.

I'll be doing a sound-off for this album in the next few days. I'm in-between a 3.5 & a 4 right now. I love 3 or 4 of the tracks... The rest are good, but nothing too special.

I have heard it Roach & disagree. I have the debut at a 3. It's just personal taste; For me, it's too raw, not melodic & hooky enough. After the halfway point, I just want Frank to stop yelling at me. I don't have that same feeling with this album.

I love this album instrumentally, but his vocals really annoy me.

Yeah, I'm sort of the same as Sobhi, although I can see myself occasionally listening to the mid-LP trio that ends with 'The Vulture'.

You know, I actually find Frank angrier in this release. In the last one he was just yelling about whatever, this time his rage is directed and more vicious as a result.

The first 4 tracks of Gallows' 2nd album 'Grey Britain' suggest a retread of their debut, even if the comparatively polished production brings out menacing atmospherics. However, with 'I Dread The Night' & 'Death Voices', the English quintet succeed with hooky melodies & anthemic sing-alongs that recall the melodic hardcore of Rise Against. Epic lead single 'The Vulture (Acts I & II)' then sees the band masterfully pull of the patient build-up to display genuine maturity. With the exception of the dramatic 'Misery', the remainder of the LP pales in comparison, but the guitar lines & drums still impress, while the vocals remain passionate. Recommended Tracks: I Dread The Night, Death Voices, The Vulture (Acts I & II) & Misery.

Just read your sound off Davey...I Dread The Night is one of the worst songs on the album. It just doesn't fit. But I think the entire second half of the album far outshines the first.
