If you're gonna try and get into ISIS, you should probably just get Oceanic and on. I've just recently bought most of the older stuff (older than Oceanic that is) and it's great stuff but just not what they're up to now or truly capable of. These guys live for the fucking win though!

I got Oceanic and the one after it (starts with a "P") and they're not as good as this. So, you're saying that "In the Absence of Truth" isn't better than this?

That was the other one I got with Oceanic. Panopticon is definitely better than Oceanic, but I still liked this one more. I'm still giving all three more listens though.

Everyone's got their opinion, but I really feel like if you keep listening to Panopticon you will easily feel as though it fucking slays every other thing these guys have put out. Definitely get In The Absence Of Truth too though, especially if you like this one so much.

oh and yeah, "In the Absence" is definitely similar to this, kind of in the same way Oceanic and Panopticon are similar.

Probably closer to this than it is to Panopticon - at least I would say so. It is kinda hard to say with ISIS because all of their albums have their own character. In The Absence (to me) is pretty loose sounding, and this seemed to find the middle point of In The Absence and Panopticon/Oceanic.

I couldn't agree more McP3000. The middle of the song where it kind of teases you with the peaks/ valleys is where its at.

Still album of the year for me.
