I think this is thought of as the album where they sold out or whatever but it's actually a lot heavier than people may assume

I see TOCS considered their sellout album more often. I still consider this to be a part of "their heavier old stuff", and this is far more creative than their first two albums.

Considering bumping my rating to a 3.5, those first two songs are fucking great.
Also if Aaron is still doing the cleans here I think this has some of my favorite Aaron performances.

But this is definitely the best of the Dallas era.

Honestly it'd be interesting if Underoath played the first two tracks live with Spencer doing the screaming. When the Sun Sleeps is such a banger.

This used to be my favorite Underoath album nowadays I jam DTGL and Disambig harder but this one has lost zero of its charm.
When the Sun Sleeps is still my favorite Underoath song and one of my favorite songs in general.

When I first heard this album I was surprised how heavy the rest of it is compared to that song

Soundwise I dont think When the Sun Sleeps is that much different from the rest of the album.
Just waaaaaay fuckin catchier.
