Those who says mike is just doing low growls are stupid. First listen to all opeth album, bloodbath (except NMF), katatonia (Brave Murder Day), etc. Second, is singing voice is a lot better than tommy. He can go high, just listen to Hessian Peel heavy part or blackwater park ending which is more screaming than growling. If you have listen to the fathomless mastery you can notice that he can emulate David Vincent's voice.
Anyway tommy is a good singer too. I love both bands. This dvd is awesome. So no opeth talking in here anymore.

Alaska or TSC is probably the best choice for getting into BTBAM I'd say, though Colors is my personal favorite.

same here. Their older stuff never attract me except Selkies.

I love their old stuff too. But I didn't until I fell in love with Colors, then I went back and slowly fell in love with their back catalog too.

selkies isn't even the best song on alaska sigh

Finally got it in the mail. Almost a month wait. Amazing musicians, average stage performance. Except for the outro, that was fucking awesome. This Message Edited On 10.27.08

Just Dusty, really. Maybe Paul a little bit, but his fingers move so much and so fast that they pretty much make up for the lack of movement in the rest of his body.
I love how Tommy does the dual vocals in Prequel to the Sequel cause the other vocalist is never there live with them.

just got this. will fall asleep to such delicate sexual mastery

i really think they need to incorporate all the different lineups into a live dvd montage. i mean seriously, ive seen this band since 2002 and they have had twelve (12) different members in the touring lineup. When i saw them with stretch arm strong in 2003 they opened with "aesthetic" and they really had great stage presence. tommy had a huge beard. that's the btbam i like to remember. i mean, the dvd on the TSA re-issue is the Alaska fans wish was on this release and is almost captured within the same touring continuum. i say 2.5/5 (for dragging this Colors thing)

The first thing I did when I got up this morning was watch this and I have to say I was very impressed.

the second set on this dvd puts this into a different realm.
when it was brought up that these guys aren't 'pure metal', such a comment might be true in some facets, but if not being pure metal means they love their fans, put on flawless shows, and stab the term musician in the face... who cares
anyone listened to orbs yet?
