I know you said this a long time ago, but wtf bodominflames? Guardians of Asgaard is easily one of the best. It's one of the few non-filler tracks (along with the title track, Free Will Sacrifice, No Fear for the Setting Sun and Live For the Kill)

Anyway, love this album.

This gets a big fat 5 from me, it's simply stunning. In my opinion, this album should be the dictionary definition of the phrase 'no filler, all killer'.

Yeah it's great, but a classic rating seems a tad steep. Good stuff

@fadetoblack123: when i bought this, i was only listening to two songs in the first few weeks until i got bored of them which forced me to check out the others and it hit me how vast and adventurous the whole thing is... it just takes more than a few listens.

Curse.

that's the genre for you. I used to really enjoy melodeath, but nowadays I only find DT and Hypocrisy to be doing anything worthwhile and non-copypasta

I'm actually more a nu metal fan, i stumbled upon these guys by luck, i don't even know any other band in that genre... whatever the genre is... melodic death metal?

if you're being serious, check out:
In Flames - The Jester Race
At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul
Dark Tranquillity - The Gallery (you might prefer their newer albums though, try 'Fiction')
Carcass - Heartwork

if you were joking, now I look like a complete gay

Album has too much filler (they could have dropped 2 tracks and I wouldn't have noticed at all) to be a classic.

Carcass used to be a grind band, then death metal, then melodeath. Heartwork was pretty much the first melodeath album.

Then At The Gates, In Flames and Dark Tranquillity refined it to create Gothenburg, which is what Scar Symmetry, Soilwork and all those other bands are
