i agree it is, i remember hearing it when it first came out
i really like coreys new vocals
they were a bit too dry for my taste on vol 3
but that didnt stop the album from being amazing

IOWA was their best record, period. Subliminal was piss poor compared to their previous efforts. however, All Hope does have some nice old Slipknot sounds. overall, a slightly improved version of Vol 3.

iowa was good but not their best release imo

IOWA carried so much aggression, from what I think is what they really wanted to produce on their first record. The Self Titled record was catchy, but it sounded like the were trying to aim for more heavier stuff, example on Surfacing, Liberate, No Life etc. IOWA was all that was agressive, without relying on samples too much as on the first record. Simply, it was all balls out (Everything Ends, Metabolic, I Am Hated, Heretic Anthem, People = Shit). Vol 3 was way to over produced, thus taking away the edge of their music. I could even barely begin to feel any of the anger that was to exist on Blister Exists because of the watery sounding drums. Duality was a good song, no doubt. But the whole record fell short. Oh, and the Disaterpieces DVD also shows how 'Knot built up all that tension and nearly killed themselves.

im only through the first song though lol

album is ok but it feels like a step back from vol. 3 in almost every way. This album feels like its missing the substance that made vol.3 so much better. Would have liked to see Rick Ruben behind the board again to see where he would take them next. Corey vocals are great and if the guitarists are gonna solo on almost every track they better do more than basic shred, time and time again. sh.it its not like their Slayer..

Self titled was the best, hands down. It was fairly interesting...

it sounds more Virus of life-ish to me.

eh maybe a little of both, virus of life as one of the ending songs on vol 3 and this one is in the middle of the album which gives me more of the gently feel

Is this the fucking retarded reason why you gave Bon Iver a one, so that album has a "fair average" as well?
No, I did that because someone gave Sagas a 1 who didn't it want it in front of that album on the top album of the year chart thingy. But Sagas has since dropped a lot so seeing as that doesn't matter and you reminded me, I'll go take that off.
And Yeah, I agree with Chan, Iowa was the low point for this band, though I still really enjoyed a few songs off it.

I can't help but be really bored when i listen to this. The single is kinda catchy though
