Ok, for everyone who has a problem with the deletion of the comments. Hump your face basically put it the way I see it:
It's always fun to watch people fight with teeth and nails as soon as an album gets popular. I mean it's just insane to me that some people could hate an album so much that they have the time to sit around and try to convince people why it sucks.

Opinions arn't contagious, make your point about why you like/dislike this album and artist and then **** off. Noone even debates properly they just go in circles and keep sayign the same thing, it the end your argument is either "Greenday sucks!" or "Greenday rules!" and you make that clear in your first post.
The argument WAS going in circles. And the level of 'discussion' was getting lower and lower. And it's steering towards that same level again.

I ask you again: If you can make a point about the music or review, do so, in a civilised manner. Arguments like "Green Day sucks" are absolutely obsolete, as usually no one, like in NO ONE participating in the argument will change their mind about it. Either they like the band, or they do not. And that's everybodys freedom.

So, especially to the regulars here: You know the rules, you know the drill. Play it that way. Please. Thank you

Just because he doesn't do his own solos in concert doesn't mean he can't do them anywhere else.

good review man but you didn't say anything about "The death of saint jimmy" to me that song could have been on Dookie....I ve been a fan of Green Day since Nimrod came out and im kinda glad to see them doing somthing else other than what they've done since 1989. I'm just pissed off that all the Simple Plan fans like Green Day now

Personally I don't care for this album much at all. Overrated times 1000. They think just because it's a "rock opera" (pop opera, more like it) that it is the best album ever made.

Are you kidding me? Dookie has sold 15 million copies! You clearly must not know what you are talking about.

If at any time they sold out, it would be when Dookie was released, but I don't think that to be true either.

the most annoying thing on the radio these days is that crappy twangy guitar at the start or Wake Me Up When September Ends

Listen here. Green Day has been around forever. And they have a right to make some money. Album sales had been declining since Dookie. They hit a low point with Warning. So they tried something different that worked, and they reclaimed their status as the most successful punk band ever. What is the issue?

It's not really a "right" to make money, this is just one of those albums that is hideously overrated and the songs get so boring that you tear your ears off when they come on the radio.

American Idiot is quite a unique album by Green Day but it just doesn't quite do it for me. The songs are listenable but after a while, it will drive you insane (thanks to MTV I can never listen to Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I do however love Holiday, St. Jimmy, and Give Me Novicane. I would recomend getting Dookie instead if you want Green Day.
